Singing the praises of the increasingly incredible Chris Cornell…
Portland, OR—Yesterday, in the bleary-eyed rock-n-roll aftermath afternoon before another blistering night of rock-face, I was shooting the shit with a group of gals who like to ROCK. They said that they’d taken to calling Chris Cornell simply, The Voice. I think this is entirely appropriate! Dude is out for blood right now, and opening for him these past few weeks has been mind-blowing. To get to rock my own face off and then be able to witness the tremendous feats of rock-n-roll this guy pulls off every night—life has never been better!
Though sometimes I watch from backstage, my favorite spot to check out these shows has been in back of the main-floor crowd. Cornell has this way of whipping us into drooling rabid ROCK MANIACS. He’ll sometimes stalk the stage and beat his chest like some kind of sophisticated ape-man shaman, or he’ll throw out his arms like sweet Jesus, sending his voice into the highest reaches, transcendental forays into screeching-angel oblivion. And we-the-tribe drop our jaws, throw the goat fingers, and scream our ever-lovin’ heads off. So, at the risk of sounding redundant, I ask you, what more is there to life than this!?!? Supersweet.

And check out the recording I did this past June of my solo project Larune at The Echo Sessions—you can download 3 FREE TRACKS, and if you likey, then buy the rest of the session, which includes 5 Larune tracks plus 5 tracks by Finian McKean… or, if you come to an Earl Greyhound show on this tour, I’ll put one in your hand personally!
