‘Hound Sounding

I know I keep mentioning the weather in these parts, but have I mentioned that the weather is REALLY splendid here down south?  In Athens we got the treat of a lifetime-- Kate and Fred from The B52s!!! were dancin’ their ever-lovin’ faces off at our Athens show, to which I can only say FUCK YEAH!!  Athens was the last we saw of the Apollo Sunshine crew, godbless’em-- perhaps we’ll run into them on the avenue at SXSW.  Speaking of said gathering, my band--along with the Texas sun-- is going to MELT BRAINS in Austin next week, and I’m deadly serious.

Last night in Gainseville, FLA was pretty sweet… The Common Grounds, where we played, had a sound system that liked us bands loud and proud, thankyaverymuch-- local band Averkiou laid out some pretty THIIIIK riffs-- made me think of a raunchy-weezer, dare I say a smidge heavier?… Then fellow travelers Dirty On Purpose ended the night with their luscious shoegazer pop… YUM YUM all around!

I think today might bring our second foray to the beach, cuz why not?  We have the day off, so we’re thinking of catching DOP in St. Augustine with fellow Brooklyners The Big Sleep, since we haven’t had the pleasure of meeting those cats yet… I’ll let you know how it goes, dear blog…

The People Have Spoken:

The Big Sleep are tight. Definitely go check them out.

Have fun melting faces and wrecking skulls in Austin. Wish I could be there.

I’m glad you guys are having fun down south, but PLEASE come back to New York ASAP!  I was so disappointed when I saw the new tour dates and realized that I probably won’t be able to see my favorite band again until at least May.  I’ll just have to occupy myself with the constant listening of Soft Targets until you return.  Keep rockin!

Daniel, I’m blushing!  Your favorite band?!! Bands dream of the day we might hear something like that, so many thanks… we can’t wait for our triumphant return home either-- I’m thinking of this tour kind of like a “tour of Spring”, since we’ve already started this most pleasant of seasons down south, and will be returning just in time for the blooms in NYC in May…

hey kamara!
Dan and I both attend the Calhoun School, a place that was blessed with your concert not too long ago. But before I go on, I don’t know how much i can stress the importance of Dan’s previous comment or of this one:
ss Dan already stated, we worship the ground on which you walk and countdown the seconds in which you will finally return to NYC from this dryspell of EG live greatness in your home city. Anyway, i was spending my usual afternoon exploring the EG website and ticketmaster and my heart skipped a beat when i saw that EG was finally coming back to NYC for a June 14th show at the Bowery. But i was heartbroken as soon as i realized that the show is 18+. I don’t know what kind of input any band has in the show’s age limit, but i would be forever grateful if somehow we could get in (whether it is a lower age limit or maybe you guys could work some magic). We are your biggest fans and would kill to see you in june (maybe not kill, but still you get the idea). If we cant see this show, i hope that you can play again in June because i might actually go crazy if i dont.
i hope all is well with the band.
stay great kamara, and KEEP ROCKIN!

ps. if you are thinking of any other shows in the ‘hood anytime please tell us!
