Oh Canada… I luvva your people, I luvva your country…
Winnipeg to Vancouver was a beautiful experience. A hearty thanks to the Canadians who rocked their faces off every single night and were so very welcoming to Earl Greyhound. This earth-lovin’ mama had a smile on her face every inch of the way—from the shaven autumn harvest prairies outside Regina and Saskatoon, to the luxurious foothills of Calgary. From the absolutely stunning Canadian Rockies, their deep forest evergreen slopes studded with the bright nostalgic yellows of aspen trees, then rising to their mighty white pinnacles in the sky, to the wondrous, rain-soaked valleys of Vancouver… ah Canada, have I romanticized you enough yet?
Tonight we play Seattle with Chris Cornell—WHAT?! Then Portland, Salt Lake City and Reno. I’m still pinching myself and trying to believe this is really happening.
Playing in the EG tour van:
Tori Amos “Boys For Pele”, “Scarlet’s Walk”
Quicksilver Messenger Service, this is some heady shit people!
Yeah Yeah Yeahs, both of their albums back to back
Land of Talk, don’t leave home without it!
And check out the recording I did this past June with members of my band Larune at The Echo Sessions—you can download 3 FREE TRACKS, and if you likey, then buy the rest of the session, which includes 5 Larune tracks plus 5 tracks by Finian McKean… or, if you come to an Earl Greyhound show on this tour, I’ll put one in your hand personally!
